Directorate General for the Digital Transformation of the Administration of Justice

The Directorate General for the Digital Transformation of the Administration of Justice, formerly known as the Directorate General for the Modernization of Justice, Technological Development and Asset Recovery and Management, is the executive body of the General Secretariat for the Innovation and Quality of the Public Justice Service of the Spanish Ministry of Justice that is responsible for promoting the modernization and digitalization of the Administration of Justice.
Its head is Mr. Aitor Cube Contreras.

Two General Sub-Directorates report to this General Directorate:

The Sub-Directorate General for Planning and Management of Digital Transformation, which is responsible for planning and managing digital transformation projects in the area of the Administration of Justice, as well as coordinating actions in this area with other administrations, State bodies, professional corporations and public institutions; the design, management and maintenance of a technological infrastructure that guarantees operational security and supports the development and operation of digital services to be implemented by the General Secretariat, which allow the interconnection and interoperability of applications, data and systems within the legal sphere; the preparation of standards and coordination in the area of information technologies in order to guarantee the interconnection and interoperability of data, applications and systems; the planning and execution of the budget for the digital transformation of the Administration of Justice, as well as the execution and associated accounting follow-up. Promotion of contracting files and contractual monitoring of service level agreements; and the definition, implementation and monitoring of the Technological Security Plan within the scope of the Administration of Justice. Its head is Mr. José Luis Hernández Carrión.

The Deputy Directorate General for the Development and Implementation of Digital Services, which is responsible for the functional definition of new digital services or the evolution of existing ones, coordinating and gathering the different demands and needs expressed by end users or by those responsible for these services; the design, development and maintenance of digital applications and services created or implemented within the scope of the Administration of Justice, as well as making them available to other public bodies; the elaboration, maintenance and assurance of the correct provision of the Digital Services Catalog; the integral management of the support to users and headquarters that guarantees a digital workplace according to the needs, as well as the coordination of the training in digital competences; and the integral management of the Administrative Registries of Support to the Judicial Activity and the development of its international connection. Its head is Mr. Javier Hernández Díez.

These divisions are the result of dividing the functions originally held by the Subdirectorate General for New Justice Technologies of the Ministry of Justice (SGNTJ).
